High Country Crime Stoppers and the Watauga County Sheriff's Office seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office requests your help identifying the whereabouts of a black 1993 Nissan Sentra, two-door that was parked on the side of U.S. Highway 421 South in front of Mountain Home and Hearth.  The vehicle was parked due to inclement weather on Thursday, March 27, 2014, and when the owner returned to pick the vehicle up on Saturday, March 29, 2014, it was not there.  The vehicle has a North Carolina License plate of CEW-8339.  The vehicle also has a Martin guitar sticker and an Espresso News sticker in the back window.

High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

On April 1, 2014, A larceny occurred at 450 East King Street, Saks Grill.  Two white females entered the business and placed an order for food from the grill.  While they were waiting for their food, both of the females began looking at the sunglasses.  One of the females took a pair of sunglasses and placed them in her pocket.  A short time later, she took another pair of sunglasses.  After receiving their food, both of the females left the store and failed to pay for the sunglasses.  The suspect female is wearing a gray sweat jacket, green tee shirt, silver gym shorts, and flip-flops.

University Crime Alert

 

High Country Crime Stoppers and ASU Police Department needs your assistance in solving and preventing larcenies on campus.

Since the beginning of the spring semester, the ASU Police Department has received four reports of larcenies of cash and App Cards from the Mt. Mitchell Fitness Center locker rooms.  One common factor in these reports is that the items were left unsecure. 

When using the workout facilities on campus, please remember to secure your valuables either in your vehicle or if you use a locker in the locker room, secure it with a lock. When attending class or other functions do not leave your valuables unattended. A crime cannot occur if the opportunity does not present itself.

High Country Crime Stoppers and the Watauga County Sheriff's Office seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

The Watauga County Sheriff's Office is seeking help in identifying the individual who forced their way into the Foscoe Pharmacy.  The incident took place on February 14, 2014 at approximately 1:00 AM.  The suspect gained entry by forcing the back door to Foscoe Pharmacy open.  There was only one item that was taken from the pharmacy.  The video footage shows the suspect dressed in a dark hooded sweatshirt.

High Country Crime Stoppers and ASU Police Department seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

On Sunday March 2, 2014 at approximately 4:05 am, ASU Police received a report of a Breaking, Entering & Larceny to a dormitory room that occurred at Appalachian Panhellenic Hall. A preliminary investigation by officers revealed that unknown suspect(s) pried open an exterior window to gain entry to the room and once inside took numerous items of property. ASU Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office is seeking your help in identifying this individual who entered into a local business in the early morning hours of Monday, February 24. The suspect took various electronic items from inside the business. A blue1999 Honda CRV was taken from the parking lot of the business and has displayed a North Carolina License Plate of, AKF-5168.

Sometime between the dates of January 31, 2014 and February 3, 2014, a breaking and entering occurred to an enclosed trailer at the old Library Restaurant location on Blowing Rock Road in Boone.  Various tools and other construction equipment were stolen.

On December 30, 2013, two white females entered into Sagesport, in the Boone Mall, and proceeded to steal a black Columbia jacket and a black North Face jacket, totaling approximately $240.00.  One female suspect has blonde hair and was dressed in a gray shirt.  The second female suspect has brown hair and is dressed in a dark colored shirt.

On December 28, 2013 at approximately 6 p.m. a female victim left her wallet at the garden center cash register in Walmart.  A white female, who was the next person in the checkout line, picked up the wallet and placed it into a shopping bag prior to leaving the store.  The female suspect has long black hair and was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and a light colored scarf.  The female suspect was also accompanied by a white male who was wearing a camouflage ball cap, a camouflage jacket and blue jeans.

Sometime just before Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013, two trailers were taken from Blue Ridge Auto Sales at 1958 Old US Hwy 421 South, Boone, NC 28607.  Taken was a white 2014 Homesteader 712PT enclosed tandem axel trailer and black 2014 Homesteader 610LB dump trailer.  The enclosed trailer has side and rear doors, chrome wheels, and an “A-frame” style hitch.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2013 a woman’s wallet was reportedly stolen and one of her credit cards was used to make fraudulent financial transactions. Please see the attached photos of the suspect. The Boone Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this man.

On Monday, November 18, at approximately 3:00 am, two people stole over the counter medications from the CVS store on Blowing Rock Road.  The suspects are seen on surveillance video as a white female with dark hair wearing jeans and a grey hoodie and carrying a zebra striped purse and a white male wearing jeans, a tan long sleeved shirt, and a camouflage ball cap.  The couple left in a silver 2011 or newer Hyundai Accent with notable damage to the passenger side front bumper.

On Sunday, October 13, 2013, at 12:40 AM, two male suspects vandalized the Temple of the High Country located at 1043 West King Street.  The two males can be seen entering the property from the King Street side of the building.  They then wrap a chain used to section off the parking area around some vent pipes on the back side of the building.  While on the property, the two suspects also pulled wiring out of electrical boxes on the back of the building, resulting in damage to the building's sewage system. 

The suspects are two white males who appear to be in their late teens or early twenties.  They are approximately 5’08” to 5’10” tall and are both clean-shaven.  The males were wearing dark-colored sweatshirts, one of which may have lettering on it.

Sometime between the hours of 5:30 PM on October 30, 2013 and 6:00 AM on October 31, 2013, three pieces of heavy construction equipment were damaged on Temple Drive, near the location of the old Watauga High School.  A Volvo dump truck, Caterpillar bulldozer and Peterbilt dump truck comprised the damaged construction equipment.

Doc’s Gem Mine, located at 129 Mystery Hill Lane, Blowing Rock, NC, was broken into on Sunday, October 27, 2013, around 11:10 PM. 

The following items, valued at approximately $1500, were taken:

1          Lighted oversize skull decoration.
1          Animated caged skeleton
4          Halloween figures on guide poles
2          Lawn mower gas cans

            Tools from shop tool box (Socket sets, wrenches and screwdrivers)

            I-pod

The suspects were driving dark colored Toyota 4 Runner.

The ASU Police Department needs your help in solving a Larceny that took place at the New Belk Library loading dock on the Appalachian State University Campus in Boone. The Larceny took place on 09/09/2013 at 10:30pm.  The two suspects entered a storage container and removed approximately 700 pounds of scrap aluminum. The suspects appear to be driving a white or sliver Toyota Tacoma or Tundra.

On Tuesday September 17th, 2013 at approximately 2:00 p.m., a white male entered Grashal Outdoors and took a Beretta semi-automatic pistol.  The man was wearing a dark colored ball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and white tennis shoes.

On September 13, 2013 at approximately 1:00 pm, a white male and a white female entered into Walmart and proceeded to collaborate in the theft of over $1,500 in merchandise.  Among the items stolen were two Hewlett Packard computers, a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave and other household items.  The suspects loaded the merchandise into a blue, four-door sedan and then left the area.

On August 10, 2013, at approximately 9:30 PM, a male victim dropped his wallet in front of the checkout stations inside the Boone Walmart.  A Hispanic male, approximately 5’08” tall and weighing 170 pounds, was following the victim and picked up the wallet.  The suspect was accompanied by young female child.

Sometime during the evening of August 16, 2013, and the morning of August 17, 2013, a breaking and entering occurred at Boone Ford, 300 New Market Blvd.  Unknown persons entered the business and took some items.  The persons also damaged some items inside the business.

On August 8, 2013, just after 9:00 PM, an unknown white male entered the Cracker Barrel located at 1601 Blowing Rock Road brandishing a weapon and demanding money.  The suspect fled the area on foot towards the Shops at Shadowline parking lot.  A witness observed a suspicious vehicle in the Shops at Shadowline parking lot during the time of the robbery and it is possible this vehicle picked the assailant up.  The vehicle is described as a late 1990’s to early 2000’s burgundy Jeep Grand Cherokee with a gray plastic bottom.  The vehicle appeared to be in decent condition with no known abnormalities or modifications.

At approximately 2:35 AM, an unknown white male took a ceramic apple displayed in front of Town Hall from an Applcart statue.  The male is accompanied by a white female when he takes the item.  Earlier in the evening, the suspect is seen with the same female and three other females near Town Hall.  Video is attached.

On June 25th, 2013 at approximately 12:15 a.m. a white male entered multiple vehicles near ECR software, located at 277 Howard Street, Boone, NC 28607.  The white male was wearing a blue shirt depicting the letters “DC” on the front, khaki shorts and a blue, flat bill hat.

At approximately 1:00 am in the morning of 06/15/2013, a white male entered the Watauga County Courthouse.  The white male was not wearing a shirt and had a large tattoo on the right side of his back and upon both shoulders.

The Watauga County Sheriff's Office requests your help.  The night of June 4th 2013, two tires and wheels were stolen off of two separate trucks parked at the Mack Brown Chevy Dealership at 2705 US HWY 421 South just outside the city limits.  The four wheels taken were made by Chevy and are five spoke with Goodyear Eagle tires size 275-55-20.

On Sunday, April 21, 2013, at approximately 2:45 AM, an unknown suspect attempted to gain entry to Sak’s Grill, 450 E. King Street, by breaking the glass out of the front door. The suspect left the area on foot traveling towards Wood Circle.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at approximately 5:30 am, a suspect broke the front glass of Expressions on Howard St, entered the store and stole several items.  The suspect was wearing black gloves, a dark blue jacket with a white patch on the left upper left chest of the jacket, jeans and a white beanie with black designs around the rim.  The suspect was also carrying a multi-colored satchel.

High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

On March 28th, 2013, a Grey 2000 GMC Sierra single cab pickup truck, with North Carolina registration tag AMR-5347, was stolen out of the Chili’s parking lot in Boone.  The owner of the vehicle was attempting to sell the vehicle and allowed a couple to take the vehicle for a test drive, but they never returned.   The suspects are described as a white male in his thirties, very thin, with a light, scruffy beard, wearing a black beanie cap and a sweatshirt.  The second suspect is described as a white female, also in her thirties, with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a brown jacket.

High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

On the evening of Friday, March 22nd, a white male was found severely beaten near the Boone Trail Motel, located at 275 E King Street. The victim was transported to the Watauga Medical Center ER for treatment and was subsequently transported to Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. The victim had been in the downtown business district prior to being found.

High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday February 10th, a residential mailbox on Dogwood Road in Boone was destroyed as the result of a small explosion.  The explosive used was likely a firework or other similar small explosive device.  There are no reports of injury connected with this vandalism.

High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

On Thursday, January 2, 2013, at approximately 2:05 PM, the Rite-Aid drugstore at the Shops at Shadowline was robbed.  The suspect is a white male, 6+ feet tall, medium/large build, fair complexion with bushy, dark eyebrows.  He was wearing a gray hoodie, black bandana, black jacket and a black toboggan.  The suspect entered the store, presented a note that demanded prescription drugs.  The suspect left the store traveling towards Harris Teeter on foot.
