Administrative Services Unit

The Administrative Services Unit is responsible for many functions within the Boone Police Department including Personnel, Training, Purchasing of Supplies, Uniforms, and Equipment, and Fleet Coordination.

A key component of the personnel function involves coordinating the hiring and promotional processes for the department. The training function involves scheduling training for each officer. The department has an in-service training program in which each officer receives approximately 48 hours of in-service training per year. Additional specialized training results in officers receiving an average of 150 hours of training annually.

The Administrative Services Unit is also responsible for ordering supplies, uniforms, or equipment for officers. The fleet coordination function consists of consists of tracking maintenance, assignments, and vehicle replacement for a fleet of patrol vehicles.

Sergeant Robbins also serves as the Public Information Officer for the police department.
