Planning & Inspections

Welcome to the Town of Boone Planning and Inspections Department website.  The Planning & Inspections Department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  We are located in the lower level of the Downtown Post Office at 680 West King St., Suite C, Boone, NC 28607.  Limited free parking for customers of the Post Office and Planning & Inspections is available on Linney Street adjacent to the Post Office.

The Planning & Inspections Department assists the Town Council and appointed Boards in managing growth and promoting public health, safety and general welfare through the formulation of plans, policy recommendations as well as the administration of the Town’s Unified Development Ordinance, North Carolina State Building Codes and various nuisance codes and statutes.  Our goal is to provide the very best service to our customers in the community, while developing strategies to guide growth in a manner that preserves and enhances both the natural and built environments and creating a community of lasting value.

We hope that you find the information on our website to be helpful and invite you to call or stop by our office with any questions that you may have relating to land use, development, subdivision, building or inspection services. Information may also be obtained via e-mail from any contacts listed on this page.
